Remembering the Microdata P99 Intelligent Terminal

My working life began as a Trainee Computer Systems Engineer for McDonnell Douglas Information Systems based in Hemel Hempstead, UK. That was 31 years ago and I recently posted on instagram a picture of some the equipment I used to install, maintain and repair.

So, 31 years ago today I started my career in Information Technology with McDonnell Douglas Information Systems at a time when you fixed systems to component level on site.with a soldering iron. Back in 1989 the IBM PC AT was something of a novelty, and many businesses were dependent on Terminals, mini-computers and mainframes. Here is the Microdata P99 Intelligent Terminal which was part of the Sovereign Data Entry system. Anyhow, that seems a long time ago and I now work in Technology Risk for the most part today. . #strawbyteworkshop
